Oxidative Rosé Wine of Vermont ~ Alpine Solera
Lost Causes & Desperate Cases is a co-production by Deirdre Heekin x Camila Carrillo.
The fourth installment in our collaborative oxidative wine project between La Garagista and La Montanuela, Flora is inspired by traditional solera methods--where small amounts of the new wine are blended with mature wines from earlier years--this dry oxidative wine calls to mind the memory of the ongoing collection of our past vintages back to 2015. Through the lens of our alpine landscape, this wine tells the story of the West Addison vineyards situated by the side of Lake Champlain and planted on clay and limestone, remnants of an ancient sea, and is aged in a 100 year old Amontillado barrel from Jerez.
This is not your grandmother's or great grandmother's cream sherry. Very dry, yet textured and nutty at the finish.

This vineyard on clay, limestone, and shale, is defined by wide-open space full of the epic romance of a mythic novel, grand gestures, battles of bravery, lost and found love, stories of courage and heart, and is protected by Les Carouges, the red-winged blackbirds who make nests in the vines for the season.
