Our Field Studies family of wines is an exploration of other landscapes in Vermont and partnerships with other farmers.

Love Work Mountain, the name for this sparkling red, comes from a poetic accident.  Grown on the opposite hillside  as the crow flies, mirroring the homefarm vineyards, thee grapes are farmed by Jack Lilly and family of Red Horse Vineyard. A narrow river valley edged by dense hemlock with waters brimming with native brook trout leads up to the high altitude broad slope, and open green meadow surrounded by wild forest and built on folds of volcanic black phyllite, greenstone, and hornblende gneiss where black bear and red fox roam.

A field blend of Marquette and La Crescent, this snappy, yet elegant sparkler leans toward dark rose and is jewel-like in its color. Great to drink now in honor of spring, but if you put one down this will also age beautifully supported by good acidic structure and fruit.
