Our Field Studies family of wines is an exploration of other landscapes in Vermont and partnerships with other farmers.

She can find the world so...Bright. Joyful. Tragic. Comic. Gorgeous. Scarred. Lovely. Mysterious. Delicious. Elemental. Wondrous.

The name for this wine is a poetic accident from autocorrect while typing “Ci Confonde Rosso”, the sister sparkling red from Vergennes. This wine, the shade of wild roses, is another face of our Field Studies series  from another edge of Lake Champlain, Grand Isle. The fruit comes from Ellison Estates Vineyard, a 10-acre parcel farmed by winegrowers Kendra and Rob Knapik. The land gently slopes down to the beach, a green meadow on an island in the northern corner of the lake over looking a long ago sea fed by a river leading to the ocean. The island’s beaches now stand on smooth stones, forgotten sands, and the ancient bones of saltwater cockles.

All crushed wild blackberries and a hint of salinity, like  wild mountain celery.
